History

Minita was born in Bombay, India into a family of entrepreneurs. Her grandfather, Mr. D. J. Sanghvi, is known as the pioneer of the pen industry in India.

 

She moved to the United States in 2001 and became a U.S. Citizen in 2010. While in Greensboro, NC, Minita served on the Human Relations Commission whose mission was to encourage fair treatment and promote mutual understanding and respect among all.

In 2014 Minita moved to Saratoga Springs to teach at Skidmore College in the Management and Business Department. In Saratoga Springs, Minita has served on the Charter Review Commission, was the founding member of the Human Rights Task force, and was elected to the Saratoga Springs Public Library where she served for 5 years. 

 

Minita has built a family in Saratoga Springs with her wife Megan and their son. They love spending time downtown, taking walks in Congress Park and Saratoga Spa State Park together. Minita and Megan love watching their son play soccer, basketball and Little League Baseball.

Minita Sanghvi is a tenured business professor with a strong educational background in business and extensive work experience in the field.

  • MS in Retailing and Consumer Sciences from University of Arizona 

  • PhD from Bryan School of Business and Economics at University of North Carolina Greensboro 

  • Graduate Certificate in Feminist Studies from Duke University
